Interesting power |
Description: |
Despite the dwindling variety of diesels offered by the two remaining builders by 1990, there was still a remarkable variety on NS, and they seemed to run systemwide, and onto connections. The line up at the East Binghamton fuel pad this day bears this out, as we see a GP 59, B32-8, and GP 50, models that were not huge sellers compared to the SD40 types and C30-7s that pervaded most of the big roads rosters at that time. |

Clear of the yard |
Description: |
RPPY has reached Shaws, the block limit station near Shaw Rd, about a mile or so south of Terrace Dr. Now clear of the East Binghamton yard, it still had a long slow ride before it could start to run, as there was a 10 MPH speed restriction almost all the way to the state line. It made for an easy chase, but not so good for the crews. |

Whose is this?? |
Description: |
D&H 75 comes into the East Binghamton yard. Not sure if it is SU 2, or perhaps NYSW BH 1, since power worked on either road at the time, though the gas cars look like this is the turn to Tioga Central in Owego. Good to see an Alco on the road in any case. |

Looking like big time |
Description: |
The NYSW was starting to take delivery of the 20 B 40s financed by CSX, and a number of them are at East Binghamton. The influx of yellowjackets looks like the NYSW is a big class 1. |

Taylor turn |
Description: |
The D&H ran a train from Binghamton to Scranton and back every day, called, appropriately, the Taylor Turn, for the yard it served in Scranton. Power was anything handy. Today, it was an NS C30-7 and a D&H C424, seen arriving at Terrace Dr at the south end of East Binghamton. |
