The coal train was taking the siding to meet a southbound, which turned out to be this 262 train, which hit the Davidson Rd detector as I was making my way to the shot. I had to take the long way around to get to the sun side, and was just pulling up to the crossing on Jefferson St as he showed. Not bad for a front seat of the car take. |

When I went past the SR 100 crossing, the crew was cutting the train, which they typically do if theres going to be a long wait, and they dont want to block traffic. I ran up to the the head end to get this shot while I considered my next move. I didnt know it, but there was a southbound in the mix, which would make the decision easy. |

Waiting for the new crew |

NY 10 is pulled up into Bevier St yard awaiting a new crew for the final leg to Jersey. Conrail will not let the D&H/NYSW stacks change crews on their main, so they have to pull into either the D&H yard at East Binghamton, or onto the Buffalo Runner and the Utica Branch. When the new crew is on, they will back the train out onto CR at QD, then head east. |
