Looks good now |
Description: |
It wont in a few years. This unit was repainted from its LV scheme fairly early on, but as the years wore on, the paint wore off. Ten years after this shot at the Oneonta shop, the LV red was bleeding through in a big way. Not that any of us minded!! |

Borrowed and blue |
Description: |
One result of the NYSW operation of the D&H was that the power all worked in the same pool, and it was common to see D&H power on the NYSW in any kind of service, such as this BH 1 yard job working at the NYSW's ex DLW yard "YO" near the Binghamton Agway. |

It was not uncommon for NYSW to mix power during the period when they were running the D&H. As we see here, this BH 1 has an ex LV GP 38-2 leading. |

Blue, for now |

MEBU rolls through Bevier St behind D&H 7314, and ex LV unit that is blue for the moment. As the years pass, the engine will show more and more of its original paint, so that it will eventually look like its former self. |

Clear of the yard |
Description: |
RPPY has reached Shaws, the block limit station near Shaw Rd, about a mile or so south of Terrace Dr. Now clear of the East Binghamton yard, it still had a long slow ride before it could start to run, as there was a 10 MPH speed restriction almost all the way to the state line. It made for an easy chase, but not so good for the crews. |

Moving now |
Description: |
RPPY has cleared the slow trackage in NY, and is now getting a roll on as it runs next to the road coming into Hallstead. The long hood forward practice on NS extended to the modern GEs, which must have been a real pain for the crews. |

Typical power for 555 |
Description: |
Train 555 rolls by Terrace Drive as it makes its way into the yard behind a trio of NS units, common for this train at the time. The D&H unit was most likely picked up at Taylor to come up for inspection or maintenance. Today there are 60 cars in tow. |
