Afternoon light
Title:  Afternoon light
Description:  I drive past this unit often, and its such a part of the landscape that I dont always pay a lot of attention. I was stalking L 102, the Watts based dodger that works most days to Simmons in Decatur, then turns back south, working Little Debbie in Gentry on the way. The light was gorgeous, so I had to get a photo of the "stuffed and mounted" F 7 while I waited for the local to pass, itself in a red/yellow/black scheme.

Caught him
Title:  Caught him
Description:  I heard a horn while I was working outside, and decided to give chase of a northbound. It turned out to be an empty TXUX train, with a pair of BNSF units on the rear. I caught him just south of Decatur, and set up for the shot passing the displayed F 7 at the station.

Just caught him
Title:  Just caught him
Description:  After we saw the light power move, we came out to take a ride in the sun, stopping at nearby Crystal Lake to do some bird watching and enjoy the 60 degree day. As we were heading back to Ark 59, we saw a southbound rolling past. A quick dash into Decatur got me ahead of the train, but just enough to jump and get a grab shot. So we have BNSF 6359 leading a 125 car TXUX train, and a nice shot of a light pole with an F unit behind it,

Delayed chase
Title:  Delayed chase
Description:  I was dropping my recycling when a northbound empty coal train went past the dump. I was elbows deep in a bin of plastic and glass, and it was already 1515-they close at 1530-so I needed to get the task done. The coal train-led by a KCS unit and a BNSF Grinstein-was moving too fast for me to catch up, and I had things to do at home. After he went by, a track car got track and time to go to Gentry, then clear up by 1600, there was a southbound at Noel. I went to Gentry at 1600, no train, so worked north, finally catching him coming across Roller Av as I got into town.

Title:  Going for a ride
Description:  We went up to North Conway on the way to Mt Washington in July 2004. It was a convenient place to overnight, and we got to ride a few miles on the old Maine Central Mountain Division. Sadly, gone are the days of harvest gold GP 38s lugging real tonnage over the White Mountains to Vermont. The weather, as it always is for me, is dismal.
