Description:  The local is now passing the home signal at CP North Watts. It will take the main south past CP South Watts, since there is a northbound empty grain train waiting on a crew in the siding. Hell work the south end, putting away the 36 cars collected during the days work. The grain train wont get out before I give up on it about two hours hence.

Busy, busy
Title:  Busy, busy
Description:  Watts is sometimes a busy place. We see the dodger, L 102, at right, working the yard. What would usually be his third unit is peeking out from behind the relay case at right. At left is the southbound H train, holding the main as he waits his turn at the yard. Behind the dodger is the tail end of the northbound grain train, whose crew now cant get on because the H train is blocking the power. It was a mess.

Lucky grab
Title:  Lucky grab
Description:  I was coming back from running some errands, picking my way through town, about to cross the KCS at Kenwood St, when to my delight the gates started down. The day was gloomy-its been raining here for the last three days, and I didnt expect to shoot any train photos, but when presented with the chance, out comes the camera from under the seat. This is unusual for two reasons: first, the dodger typically runs with three units, occasionally, but not often, two. And its long hood forward, which you never see here. Anyway, a LHF GP 40 with six cars heads to Watts in the rain. Last time I saw this unit, in Gentry on the dodger, it was gray.

Morning view
Title:  Morning view
Description:  I dont get out in the morning much-just not my time of day-but I was out this day and caught a southbound 47 car H train a few miles north of Westville, near a location the railroad calls Hudson. Three local units are behind the road power, en route to Heavener for servicing. Its a nice view, better than the west side of the tracks. Have to do this more.

Climbing into town
Title:  Climbing into town
Description:  The southbound H train has come around the curve at the north end of Stilwell, and is now climbing the short grade to the north end of the siding. Its not too much of a struggle with todays short 47 car train. The three trailing units are en route to Heavener for servicing, and are not on line.
