| Description: |
Six NYSW units lead what looks like a KL 1, but was called MEBU on the radio. There were probably not enough cars to run the trains separately-the car count was 73 on this train-so they were combined, saving a crew start. We see the train near the Tioga County transfer station, about where the LV Auburn Branch ducked under the EL. Two of the original four B40's are on this train. |

While the semaphores here got almost all the attention-justifiably-there was also another Erie relic in town. Unbeknownst to many, there was an Erie station still standing here. It was in pretty bad shape by 1990, but still up. NYK 6 passes with 60 stack platforms behind a pair of yellowjackets. |

Many fans went to Tioga Center to shoot trains at the well known twin semaphores. Few knew there was a station in that town as well. It was not hard to find, you just needed to follow a side street off NY 17C to get to it. It was in bad shape by the time I shot this in 1990, and had collapsed by the late 90s. NYK6 passes en route to Jersey. |
