Title:  Headed for the yard
Description:  Sometimes MEBU or BUME would go into East Binghamton. Such is the case today as the train has rolled onto track 5 and is headed for BD. In 15 minutes it will be across the river and in the yard. We also have an unusual unit today, ex BN 6592, an SDP 45. This one is ex GN, built in a late pre-Amtrak time when the railroads were planning to use these diesels for freight when finally relieved of running passenger trains.

ABBU rolls west
Title:  ABBU rolls west
Description:  ABBU, an empty grain train originating at the Port of Albany, has come out track 3 and now moves onto the Southern Tier Line at West BD, connecting off former DLW tracks to former Erie tracks at this point. Power is a mix of NYSW and NS, the NS C30-7 being on of about two dozen they committed to NYSW to help with their directed service operation of the D&H.

Description:  MEBU rolls off track 3-the ex DLW-onto the Southern Tier at West BD behind what was becoming an odd mix of power since the new B 40s arrived. One of them is here, trailing behind an hand me down SD 45 and borrowed NW painted NS C30-7. The former DLW main is in the foreground, now a spur ending a mile across the river in Vestal.

Description:  Six NYSW units lead what looks like a KL 1, but was called MEBU on the radio. There were probably not enough cars to run the trains separately-the car count was 73 on this train-so they were combined, saving a crew start. We see the train near the Tioga County transfer station, about where the LV Auburn Branch ducked under the EL. Two of the original four B40's are on this train.
