Rochester & Southern power
Title:  Rochester & Southern power
Description:  Often my train chases would take me as far as Silver Springs, about 135 miles from my house. It was a good location, and mostly an easy chase to that point. West of there, it was slow going, so I usually quit there. Sometimes R&S would have a unit or two there, such as this day when I caught a pair of hand me downs while waiting for a train on the Soutnern Tier Line.

We see a couple of pieces of D&H equipment, though. A wide vision caboose in the distance, and a pig flat, not a common car type on the D&H.

Colorful light
Title:  Colorful light
Description:  Just about the end of useful light, but the sun is still high enough to highlight the trees, which are peaking as the train passes through Greene.

Rubbermaid
Title:  Rubbermaid
Description:  For many years, Rubbermaid had a plant in Cortland. They received plastic pellets vi` rail, though most if not all of their outbound traffic went by truck. BH 1 is working a cut of covered hoppers into the plant on a cold day in December. Despite the gloomy weather, the engine looks festive. That's the ex DLW passenger station at right.
