Flags and a visitor |
Description: |
The flags were not a big deal. Even after CP stopped repainting its diesels in the "Dual Flags" scheme, they showed up in it for some time after. The visitor was the second unit. While not unheard of on CP, Guilford power was something of an anomaly. This set is northbound on 413 at Depot Rd |

Blank nose |
Description: |
This CP unit shows a feature that only a few units had-a blank nose. They must have been out of the "CP" decals the day they painted this engine. Train 413 rolls north with 34 cars. |

413 and a stray |
Description: |
Todays eopisode of the 413 show has a guest who strayed off its usual territory, and is now returning home. Sometimes Pan Am power would run into Binghamton, as is the case today, seen at BX with 34 cars |

413 rolls through BX |
Description: |
At one time, this location was BX tower, where the D&H crossed the DLW Syracuse & Utica lines. Its been modified quite a bit since then-the ex DLW is now a switching lead for the fzed plant, and the DLW YO yard is long gone. Even the D&H Bevier St yard is a shadow of itself. Train 413 starts north to Montreal, passing the Agway plant here with 73 cars. |

STLH leader on high |
Description: |
Train 413 soars over Wylie Creek as it rolls downhill into Afton. Todays leader is unusual, a unit more common on a local than a road train. |

Coal did not often move south over the CP, especially not with CP power. Here we see a southbound 8859 train entering the siding at Hop Bottom |

Unusual power |
Description: |
An 8859 empty coal train rolls across Martins Creek Viaduct behind a CP SD 40-2 and a pair of Guilford units as the late afternoon sun lights up the bridge. This was quite unusual, in that Guilford power rarely ran south of Binghamton, and coal trains almost always had NS power. |
