Almost there |
Description: |
D 22 passes the Erie station at Owego, now a restaurant, as it approaches the switch to get into the Owego & Harford yard to drop its cars there. Note the railfan chase vehicle, at the time a purple Blazer. |

Big curve, little train |
Description: |
D 22 rolls around the big curve between Campville and Owego with 14 salt cars for the O&H. The other commodity that was handled was LP gas, which went to a storage facility in North Harford, the farthest point still in service on the old LV. |

This Erie tri light signal replaced a semaphore, but is itself pushing 50 years in service. It will last another ten years til the line is single tracked. D 22 approaches Hiawatha Road. |

Days work done |
Description: |
D 22 arrives back at East Binghamton, coming in on the 1 Runner from the river bridge. The pair of STLH units is unusual. Most of the time, they didn't pair up-probably just out of happenstance and not any intended plan-so it was good to see them like this. |

Going for a pick up |
Description: |
Sometimes there were no cars to go to Owego & Harford, but they had to pick up empties. Most of the cars were LPG tanks, and needed a spacer between them and the power. This is the case today as a pair of units with an empty hopper rolls west at Hayes Av in Endicott. |

D 22 and 167 |

The action today was at the north end of East Binghamton. We see 167 in the distance, doubling over as D 22 arrives behind an unusual solid set of STLH power. |

Three of them |
Description: |
There were relatively few units painted for the CP eastern lines subsidiary, called St Lawrence & Hudson, which encompassed the D&H and lines east of Montreal. Some of those were captive to the D&H-a handful of GP 38s and some GP 9us as well as a handful of SD 40s. It was not common to see them together for some reason, even the captive power. Occasinally, two would be on the same train; this was a rarity, D 22 rolling south with three STLH units. |

D 22 almost home |
Description: |
There were not many diesels painted for CP eastern subsidiary St Lawrence & Hudson, though some assigned to the D&H got the treatment. Here we get the treatment as three STLH painted units roll south past Phelps St in Port Dickinson. |
