Description:  This must have been a power balancing move on 167. The train was only 71 cars, but had a total of 8 SD 40 types, including two red barn. We see it coming around the big curve at MP 231.

Barn leads
Title:  Barn leads
Description:  CPs SD40-2F units, the "red barns," were a common sight on this part of the railroad for several years, and it was always a treat to get one in the lead. Todays 167 is todays treat, as it readies for a trip west with 71 cars.

Description:  CP train 167 heads west out of Binghamton yard with 109 cars for Buffalo. Note the third unit is one of the ex NS SD40's that was made into a B unit by removing the controls and boarding up the windows. 165 is in the distance, making its way up the 1 runner as it waits its turn to go north to Montreal.

Description:  The Conklin Av crossing of the north end of the D&H yard was a great photo spot in the afternoons. Today we see 167 getting a roll going with a red barn and an ex NS SD40 that has been converted into a "B"unit. They have 109 cars in tow.
