Slowing to meet Santa |
Description: |
Not exactly the toy department at Macys, though. The southbound H train comes around the 30 MPH curve into Stilwell, where it will meet the Holdiay Express, on its way to Siloam, north of the station. |

Last of the sun |
Description: |
An 115 car empty oil train catches the last rays as it passes through Gravette. Too bad this didnt happen two hours earlier. After this, I caught a southbound grain train, which met a northbound at Siloam. I passed on a southbound coil steel train at Gentry while chasing this one. Could have had all of them in good light. |

Caught off guard |
Description: |
I had just quit on a chase of a southbound oil train, and was coming back through town when I heard a horn. Ten minutes behind the oil train was this stone train. I was able to get onto US 59 south and head for the overpass. I wasnt fast enough, so we have this grab shot of it having passed the south end of the siding, approaching the US 59 bridge. Ill have to try this shot again when I can set up for it. There are not many chances for an overhead view that are easy to reach, so this has potential. |

Wide view, lots of power |
Description: |
Sometimes KCS will run extra units on an empty train to balance the power used as DPUs, since they tend to accumulate in Heavener after a run down from Pittsburg, as theyre not really needed for northbounds. Thus, this empty AEPX train has seven units up front, and a BNSF Grinstein SD 70MAC on the rear just for good measure. |
