Description:  CR 6611, a C32-8 unique to Conrail, sits outside the office in the old Erie freight house as it gets its switching orders. C 32-8s were uncommon here, as they were based out of Selkirk, and typically were found on the Boston Line over the Berkshires.

Title:  Night BUOI
Description:  BUOI is stopped at the office in Binghamton, adjacent to the old Erie freight house. I took the opportunity to get a shot of a rare unit on the Tier, C32-8 6611. These units were almost exclusive to the River and Boston Lines, as they were based out of Selkirk. This one got to Oak Island and strayed.

Title:  Subway car pick up
Description:  BUOI couples to the flats loaded with NYCTA subway cars just shoved out of the MK plant, and will now back to the rest of its train, which it dropped west of Cass St. Once theyre back together, its off to Gang Mills and Jersey. There are two notable units in the consist. The second unit, 6840, is a former EMD SD 60 demonstrator. The third unit is one of the only ten C32-8's built. They usually were seen only on the River and Boston Lines, so this one is a stray.

Description:  NHSE had a couple of routings over the years. For a while it was running south on the Hudson Line to Beacon, then the old New Haven Maybrook line to Cedar Hill. Most of the time it ran via Springfield and the Berkshires, such as this one topping the Berkshire summit with 80 cars in tow behind an unusual leader, as this was almost exclusively GE country for road power.

Description:  WAIT 2 rolls south past the Food King parking lot, adhering to the 10 MPH speed limit through downtown, pulling a line of salt cars from the Cargill mine up on Cayuga Lake. Of note is the trailing unit, one of CR's ten C32-8's. These were a Conrail only model, and spent most of their time on the Boston and River Lines, and rarely strayed. Finding this one in Ithaca was a real catch.
