Description:  I heard this train going by the house, and gave chase, catching it at Westville, passing the H J Baker feed mill. The leader looks a little worse for wear, not unusual for UP coal power, which sees a lot of exposure to the elements, but apparently not too many trips through the wash rack.

Description:  After shooting the 181 at Noel, I headed back home. The Heritage unit app said there was a coal train with a gray KCSM GE, but the report had it in Poteau several hours earlier, and I figured it either got past me, or it was stuck in Watts for a new crew To my surprise, I saw the signal at 219-2 showed clear, and I waited the five or so minutes for it to show, here at Y City Rd, just after the sun dipped below the trees.

Doing it the hard way
Title:  Doing it the hard way
Description:  The southbound train is about halfway across the bridge to Nuevo Laredo, stopped, the nose of the engine just inside Mexico. It is at this point that the US crew gets off, and the Mexican crew gets on. Each crew has to walk to or from its respective country to make the crew change. Seems like this is making something simple a lot more difficult than it needs to be. It would be a lot easier if they did what US and Canadian crews do, run the train into the new country, then taxi back.

Description:  I went out to Subway to pick up a couple samswiches for us. As I came past Lake Frances Dr, I saw the DPU of a northbound hanging over the crossing. Must be a meet imminent. That train was not in a good position for a shot, but as I came up over the US 412 overpass, I saw a southbound coal train on the Lincoln Av crossing.I swung around onto US 412 west, and stopped on the bridge. We see the AEPX coal train passing the northbound Q train, which has held the main.

Description:  We were returning from Denver, following the old Rocks Golden State Route, and encountered this eastbound grain train at Wellsford, Kan. It was stashed in the siding there, waiting out a MOW curfew. The MOW forces were busy, we saw several work areas between there and Pratt. The 114 car train is stretched out over the rise, US 54 in the foreground. Oh well...
