Description:  For a while, empty trains were getting all the power up front, and nothnig on the rear. In recent months, the operating philosophy seems to have changed, and there are now a couple of engines on the rear of the empty trains. This northbound has a couple as it rolls past the soccer field in Westville.

Description:  The DPU on the coal train swings into the siding, seen from the Ark 12 overpass. It would turn out there was to be no meet. I had left my scanner in the car, so did not hear any conversation with the dispatcher, so no idea why he had the train run through the siding here. The next southbound Im aware of didnt hit Siloam til several hours later, so must have met this guy at McElhany or Dalby.

Description:  The northbound empty train rolls up the siding. In the distance, we can see the loaded train holding short of the Main St crossing. It will pull down as the empty pulls up. KCS is pretty good about not blocking crossings in town when they have a meet. I have occasionally been startled to see a train sitting just south of Lake Frances Rd in Siloam, waiting for a southbound to get into town.

KCS received most of its Belles in primer-they run just as well, regardless of how theyre painted, right??-and had them painted as they had time. Some went quite a while in the primer scheme, most were painted fairly quickly. We see 4696 trailing a lite power move, still in its skivvies.

Description:  I caught a southbound TXUX train as I was coming through town, and was able to beat it to Lake Frances Rd. The light was dead on, but the nose is well lit, even if the side of the unit is in shadow. The contrast makes for an intersting image.
