The spread of eastern Oklahoma, Cherokee territory, is seen in this view of a northbound grain train just north of Westville. View is from what was then two lane US 59, which is going up a hill at this point. The new, four lane US 59 would open in 2016 about midway up the frame, roughly where the barbed wire fence is, relegating the road Im on to local access for some farms and a church. Its a much better vantage point now without the traffic. |

The sun had gotten just far enough down so that I was not able to get a lit shot of the DPU on this southbound grain train. Did OK considering. Its getting hard to find a lot of gray units anymore, so was sorta happy to see this. Nice glow on the safety stripes. |
