Waiting...
Title:  Waiting...
Description:  The northbound H train waits for the southbound coal at the north end of Watts. It has just taken a new crew and will head north as soon as the coal train passes. This shot is a lot better now that the trees have been cleared out.

DPUs glint in the sun
Title:  DPUs glint in the sun
Description:  The sun angle is all wrong, but it does give me a glint shot as the DPUs on this southbound AEPX train roll away from me.

DPUs
Title:  DPUs
Description:  I didnt get a good set up for this shot, as I was standing on the base for the light pole next to the parking lot, and was about to jump when I realized the DPU was coming up on me. So were a little cockeyed here. The DPUs are still doing their job, though, regardless of my orientation.

On the main
Title:  On the main
Description:  The southbound H train rolls through the signals at the north end of the siding, holding the main as a northbound empty grain train sits beyond Lincoln Av, waiting for the signal at right to turn green.

Fly in the ointment
Title:  Fly in the ointment
Description:  This train was on the siding at Watts waiting for a new crew. While he was there, the dodger would come down, run the main to the south end of the yard, then do his work. While that was going on, the H train arrived, and had to sit on the main waiting his turn. Normally the dodger would take the siding, and work from there, though the locals ofter need the main for headroom anyway. It would get busy there in about 90 minutes.

Earlier look
Title:  Earlier look
Description:  When I got to Watts, the sun was on the east side of the train, so we have a look at it from an angle I dont usually get. The power is notable in that it is a pair of AC44CW's repainted in the Belle scheme. There are more now, but not nearly as many as the SD 70M's.

DPUs too
Title:  DPUs too
Description:  This southbound grain train had a two unit DPU, not uncommon on a train of this size. Even with AC power, it takes some moxie to get up and down the Heavener Sub.
