Meet by chance
Title:  Meet by chance
Description:  I was home, and heard a horn, along with the sound of working engines. Northbound, I thought, and took off. When I got to town, I didnt see the northbound-not uncommon, they sometimes take a few minutes to get up the hill from Watts. I was going up to Tahlequah St, as I was thinking there might be a meet, since I heard a horn to the north as well. I dont normally beat the southbounds to town, they get there too fast for me to get ahead of them. So it was with some surprise I saw the headlight of this train up beyond Country Club Rd. A southbound grain move rolls through the signals at Tahlequah St behind a now common mix of power.

Still some snow
Title:  Still some snow
Description:  The previous weeks snowfall-7" worth, a pretty good dump for here-was still in evidence when I caught this northbound empty grain train rolling through Siloam Springs after we got back from following a southbound to Bunch.

Still some glint
Title:  Still some glint
Description:  Chasing northbounds on this line, especially in winter, when the sun doesnt come around too far, can be a challenge. After shooting into the sun at Siloam, I got it backlit again at Gentry.

Finally
Title:  Finally
Description:  Not the most scenic location, near the detector just south of Decatur, but the angle is a lot better than other places for this time of day. Three CP units lead 100 empty hoppers north

Better lit
Title:  Better lit
Description:  The going away shot is much more nicely lit, and the red of the CP units saturates well. The snow that made the scene so appealing the previous day is now mostly gone here.
