Herzog means one thing |
Description: |
Ballast, at least in these cars. This ballast train had just dumped its contents north of town where the Illinois River had washed out the main on both sides of the bridge. It was now pulling past the south switch to back into the yard. |

A little more train |
Description: |
One of the down sides of a large locomotive consist is that it detracts from the view of the train in many cases. The six units on this empty oil train dominated the previous photo, and come close here, though I got a little more train in the frame as it moves through the same scene as in the previous shot. |
