HUH?? |
Description: |
I was waiting in line to ingate a container at Argentine one day, looked over between the line of trucks at the next lane, and saw this. Argetnine was not where I expected to see NYSW power. Then I remembered they were running the TP&W at the time. |

TP&W power |
Description: |
BH 2 rolls north under I 81 as it makes its way toward Chenango Forks and the Syracuse Branch behind a GP 20 that was brought east during the time NYSW ran the TP&W. There were three of these units that saw several years of service on the "eastern lines." Also in the mix is one of NYSWs own GP 40s, and a lease fleet ex NW SD 40. |

Typical mix |
Description: |
The NYSW had a wide variety of hand me down power over the years, and they were not shy about mixing it up. Most of the time, they put the yellowjackets in the lead, but anything could show up. BH 1 crosses the Chenango River on its way to Syracuse with a pair of yellowjackets, a six and a four motor unit, leading an ex NW SD, still in black dip. |

Description: |
NYSW 3636 seemed to have 9 lives. Unlike sister 3638, which was a hangar queen and retired early, 3636 lasted almost til the end of the 45 line era on the NYSW. Here we see it down along Court St near the power house for the Binghamton State Hospital, waiting on the BH 1 crew to take it east. |
