Poking out of the shadow
Description:
OIBU rolls along the Susquehanna at Red Rocks, just east of Great Bend as the last sun reaches into the valley. Today's train is unusual, as the consist is 14 freight, 12 COFC and 125 stack platforms, more like an NYSW train than OIBU.

Description:
The milepost to the right of BUOI gives away the location as the train approaches Hornell and a pick up at Morrison Knudsen. To the left of the train, next to the pole line, you can see a semaphore in the approach position. There were a pair of semaphores there, across from each other. It was not an easy location to access, hence there are few photos of that set, unlike the Tioga Center blades, which you could shoot from the shoulder of NY 17C. The train is on track 1, the "fast" track, with a 40 MPH speed limit. Track 2, the "D&H main", so called becaise some Conrail dispatchers would put D&H trackage rights trains on it, had a section of 25 MPH and a section of 10 MPH speed restrictions, making for a very slow trip to River Jct.

Description:
The Morrison Knudsen plant switcher pushes four cars loaded with NYCTA subway cars onto the main as BUOIs power waits. When the MK unit clears, the road power will couple up, then shove back to its train, waiting west of Cass St.
