I was outside working in the yard-the way a lot of these chases start-and heard a horn. Off I went, though not realizing I had a northbound as well, that had met this train at Siloam. He hit the detector north of town as I was getting underway. I ran through town, and beat it down 65 MPH US 59, catching what turned out to be this TXUX train headed for Texas as it passed some otherwise disinterested cattle. |

The DPU rolls into the shadows created by the tunnel of trees on this late Saturday afternoon on its way south. Meanwhile, the northbound is slowly pulling away toward Stilwell. It will hold south of town as another TXUX train followed by the 262, hold north of town, where the northbound will meet both. The light will go before they are in position for a photo. Such is the life of a railfan on a chase. |
