Over the top |
Description: |
This RW 6 is struggling with 129 cars, mostly paper from Canada, as it crawls over the top of Richmondville Hill at walking speed. An ex Reading unit leads one of D&Hs own U23Bs and an ex LV GP 38. |

Track level view |
Description: |
A southbound with a piece of special equipment in consist rolls under the NY 7 overpass at East Worcester. My friend Jerry is on the bridge, getting a down on. We had this guy covered!! The leader is one of the relatively new GP39-2's, the first new power D&H bought that was not built by Alco, which had gone under in 1969. |

Interesting load |
Description: |
What appears to be some kind of turbine is head out on this southbound, caught by my friend Jerry from the NY 7 overpass. GE-Schenectady was a big D&H customer, and it was not uncommon to find such loads on their trains. |

Working hard |
Description: |
The days following the departure of the C 628s marked a move toward four axle power, most of it hand me downs from LV and Reading, mostly GP 38s and 39s, but also a group of C 420s from LV. D&H did get some of its own power, among them a dozen U 23Bs, one of which is leading this northbound coal train on Richmondville hill. These units would ultimately wind up on Maine Central during the Guilford era, along with the 1976 GP 39-2s. |
