Description:  NYSW would sometimes recrew trains at Chenango Bridge if they needed to stow the train somewhere for a while when they didnt have a crew ready immediately. One place they did this was at Chenango Bridge, where there was a long stretch with no crossings. Were at Kattelville Rd adjacent to the Chenango Valley school districts bus garage, where this CSX detour train has been stashed til theres a crew.

Hitting the diamond
Title:  Hitting the diamond
Description:  A southbound grain train approaches the diamond for the ex EL at Marion running on the ex C&O. Both lines are now CSX, but the EL line is actually part of the ex NYC, which had joint track through here with EL as-part of its Big Four route to Indianapolis. Note the cut outs on the pilot of 8866; they have been modified to run in the third rail territory on Metro North south of Croton Harmon on trains to Oak Point Yard in the Bronx.

Description:  One of my favorite photo spots was along NY 17C about two miles east of Waverly, where this down on shot showed not only the train, but the expanse of the valley as well. Train 891 adds to the scenery on this June evening. Note the D&H lettering on the 4th head car. These cars were on their last legs by this time. Also, note the semaphore on track 2 at far left. This was one of the last ones to go.

Description:  CSX and lease power leads Q 271, a CSX overflow train of empty autoracks, on the former Erie Chenango River bridge. The train has come up from New Jersey, and now having cleared BD, will back down onto CPs ex DLW line, then head north on the NYSW and regain home rails at Syracuse. The bridge I am standing on is the former DLW main, now one 10 MPH track.
