OIBU has pulled up to the signal at BD, and now waits for local WABH 11 to get out of the yard, cross over to track 2 and clear the plant, before it can get downtown to do its work. The trailing unit, 6840, is one of three SD 60 demonstrators CR acquired, the others were CR 6841 and 6842, ahead of the order from EMD.

Subway car pick up
Title:  Subway car pick up
Description:  BUOI couples to the flats loaded with NYCTA subway cars just shoved out of the MK plant, and will now back to the rest of its train, which it dropped west of Cass St. Once theyre back together, its off to Gang Mills and Jersey. There are two notable units in the consist. The second unit, 6840, is a former EMD SD 60 demonstrator. The third unit is one of the only ten C32-8's built. They usually were seen only on the River and Boston Lines, so this one is a stray.

Once a busy place

Description:  A 96 car XCL coal train rolls past the Erie station at Addison, one of several still standing at this date(it was still up in 2015). The empty space in the foreground has a story of its own. This was once an interchange point between the Erie and the B&O, later to be the Wellsville Addison & Galeton. The primary traffic here was leather, which came off the WAG going to the Triple Cities, which had numerous shoe plants run by Endicott Johnson. I knew a man who had grown up in Endicott in the 1950s who told me that Erie had switchers on three tricks at EJ during that period; that being the case, the interchange here must have been phenominal.

Description:  The XCL train that has been waiting at CP Horn can roll west now that the eastbound it was waiting for, DHT 6, an eastbound NYK stack train with NYSW power, has cleared. The stack came down track 1 from River Jct, the fast track, and crossed over to track 2 here. The XCL train will roll through Hornell and go west on the Erie main at Cass St.

Description:  We were used to seeing TV 203, though usually it was rolling over Starrucca, or in the Canisteo valley. Seeing it on the Chicago Line was a new experience.
