DPUs on the move
Title:  DPUs on the move
Description:  The DPUs from both trains meet just north of the Ark 12 overpass. The empty trains a lot of times get only one unit, and sometimes dont get any, with all the power up front. The current practice on loaded trains is to run them 2x3 on the Heavener Sub, so we have a pair of KCS units tacked on behind the BNSF DPU that came from Wyoming.

Quick turn around
Title:  Quick turn around
Description:  My wife does Bible study with a group of ladies on Thursday afternoons, so I take the opportunity to go after anything that shows up while shes out. Not five minutes after she left the house, I heard a horn, which sounded like a northbound. I got out, taking her Dodge Stratus R/T, and headed into town. As I reached Lake Frances Rd, I saw a southbound coal train rolling toward Watts. I made a quick U turn, and headed for Westville, working back toward Watts. I made it about two miles up, when I saw the train headed south. A quick turn around later, I shot him from the shoulder of US 59, and took off.

Description:  In one of those lucky moments, I was on my way back to the house after taking recyclables to the dump, going the long way round to see if the signal at South Siloam was lit. It was!! I pulled off, to be rewarded five minutes later with this northbound TXUX empty train. Some days, you just get it right!!
