High bridge from the "wrong" side
Title:  High bridge from the "wrong" side
Description:  Most photos of the bridge at Harpursville show he view from where the former Penn Division crossed NY 7. In the longer days of the year, late in the day a photo could be worked from the north side of the bridge, from a parking area on NY 235. Here we see such a view of train 413, which apparently got a late start-its nomally a morning departure out of Binghamton, with 104 cars.

Out of the woods
Title:  Out of the woods
Description:  The Tier runs through about 1/2 mile or so of a wooded area between MP 232 and Hiawatha Rd. 39T is coming out of that short forest behind a quintet of SDs-all of them in more or less the same paint-passing the Erie tri light automatic signal at MP 233. This was only one of a variety of signal types on the Erie, which it seemed, could not make up their minds about which to use.
