NJT 5907 |
Description: |
Except for the paint on the diesel, this train looks just like what it is, a CNJ train from Raritan that has just dropped its New York passengers at Newark Penn Station, and is now heading for the layup tracks at Harrison. The power is an ex CNJ GP7P-note the squared off lower portion of the long hood. The cars are vintage 1925. |

EX CNJ unit |
Description: |
A number of ex CNJ GP7Ps went to NJ Transit; most were numbered at the top of the GP 7 block, such as this one, 5907, about to go out on a Raritan train with a GP40P |

Unusual power |
Description: |
There was not a lot of crossover from one line to another. Thus it was very unusual to see former CNJ power on the EL, or vice versa. This pair of ex CNJ GP7Ps was a rare find at Hoboken at that time. |
