Give me shelter |
Description: |
The Lincoln Av crossing is right next to the animal shelter and transfer station. The H train rolls to a stop to swap crews with the coal train in the distance. Wont be needing any shelter tonight. |

Playing peek a boo |
Description: |
The trees just south of Davidson Rd have grown up so much that it is now almost impossible to see an approaching train in the summer. This northbound AEPX trains power peeks through as it blows for the crossing. |

Between the flashers |
Description: |
Earlier this year, KCS upgraded some of the local crossings. Davidson Rd, which had only flashers, now has gates too. A northbound AEPX train is smack between them as it heads north. |

What I was waiting for |
Description: |
Ive been here a number of times over the last 30 years, shot a train here once, in cruddy light. The conditions were better, would have been ideal if they hadnt set off the second unit at the last siding. Solo power leads 156 stack platforms across the viaduct. |

The stack train is now at Plains, seen here in a long lens view that brings in one of the classic structures of the high plains, the local elevator. |
