For a while in the 1990s, NYSW could put together a pretty good looking set of power. After Walter Rich passed, and most of the SD 45s were sold or scrapped, they picked up used diesels from a number of sources. The result was, it became harder and harder to find a matched set of power. This SU 100 is a case in point, rolling a 63 car train east past the Kirkwood water plant, though it does have one of the two SD 40T-2's that they had painted at the time. |

The CP SD 40 types were far too common on the Tier, and we even had the SD40F red barns here for a while. CEFX power, on the other hand, was not, despite a group of new GEs that showed on a fairly regular basis. The other power was not all that common on CP. This 10T is an exception, with an SD 45 body unit between a pair of CPs own, seen rolling 60 cars past Miller Beach Rd. |
