One of the more challenging shots in the area is this shot of a northbound passing the signal at Roller Av in Decatur, just north of the station. The Simmons plant keeps the tracks in shadow much of the afternoon, but during the longer days of summer, its possible to get this shot with the power and signal lit up. Because the angle is low by then, it makes for an attractive shot. We see a northbound 84 car H train. |

| Description: |
Well, probably the last one Ill see here. Class unit KCS 3900 leading the Q KCSH splits the side by side searchlights at MP 187 near Anderson Mo late in the afternoon of Feb 26 2012. New signals have been going up in a steady southward pace, and the new lights can be seen on the ground here. Gentry and Siloam Springs got new home signals during the week of 02/20. This one is not long for the world. |

Heres the reason for the horn in the distance: the 181 train is now at Siloam Springs, cooling his heels for the red board he has at the north end of the siding, waiting while the OGEX train finally gets moving. Hes take off within five minutes. I was happy to get back into the warm car!! |
