Description:
The big new thing at this time was "power by the hour", where railroads would lease diesels, with payment based on horsepower hours. Since technology now allowed for a real time record of actual usage, it was possible for this type of billing, more accurate than a HP times how long the engine was gone billing. BN leased a group of B39-8s on this basis, and we see two of them at Cicero, under the mercury vapor lamps, making the colors a little off.
