OIBU around the curve |
Description: |
After a long more or less straight run along the George F Highway from JC, the railroad took a hard turn to the right as it entered Endwell. This was a 45 MPH curve in EL days, when the speed here was 50. A pair of new C40-8Ws roll into it as they head for Elmira and Buffalo. |

Downtown doings |
Description: |
OIBU works at Binghamton with a pair of new C40-8Ws. We also get a good look at remaining facilities on the DLW side: the station, and the Marconi tower, a historical landmark. |

ELOI and new power |
Description: |
ELOI runs alongside NY 17C with a pair of new C40s and 33 cars. This train was notable in that ELOI only sporadically got east of Gang Mills-it usually terminated there, its cars forwarded by BUOI; and that it had new power. The train usually got a motley assortment of whatever was available at Elkhart, though sometimes that was western units off UP connections. |

Almost dark |
Description: |
ML440 rolls east with 105 racks just as it was getting to dark for photos. CR 745 is one of a group of ex LMS units from a fleet shared with CN. CR did not renumber the units when it fully acquired them, hence the out of sequence numbers. |
