Chase over
Title:  Chase over
Description:  My joy at finally getting a train led by an ET44AH was short lived. I ran into Baron, thinking Id get this across the field shot, which I had done last week with the DPU on a northbound coal train. I pulled onto the shoulder to get out of the way, then realized I wanted to move back about 20 feet to frame the shot better. What I didnt see was the stub post from a road sign-ironically, probably a grade crossing sign that was moved-that was sticking about six inches up from the ground, and not visible from the car. I backed over it, blowing out my right rear tire. This was the only shot I had, and the last one Id get. Someday.....

Finally 5000s
Title:  Finally 5000s
Description:  The ET44AHs have been running for almost two years, but they seem to elude me. Except for some sporadic shots, I have not really seen them. So it was a happy moment when this southbound M train came into view at Westville, passing the HJ Baker feed mill.

This is not the 4877 you are looking for
Title:  This is not the 4877 you are looking for
Description:  It was inevitable that, sooner or later, I would come across the 4877. Unfortunately, not the celebrated Tuscan red GG 1-though I did see and ride behind it over 40 years ago-but the KCS ES 44 that is just another GE in the fleet. I was returning from the I 181 chase, and happened upon this northbound M 261 just as I rolled into downtown Gravette. Hes got 57 cars in tow as he rolls into the gathering gloom. In an odd twist, second unit CP 8769 is the second CP 8769 I've seen; the other was an RS 18 at Mechanicville on the D&H in 1984.
