Leaning to the curve |
Description: |
I was heading south on US 54 where it crosses the Santa Fe, and knew I was just far enough ahead of this westbound to get the shot off the bridge. The timing was perfect, and I nailed it, as the train swung into view just as I got out of the van. Five units, including a way out of its lane Grinstein SD 70, lead a westbound into the sun past a long string of JB Hunt boxes on an eastbound. |

Bright future |
Description: |
The trailing unit is one of the 1000 SD70MACs BN acquired in the 90s for coal service. Many of them have now been displaced in that work by newer power, and have found their way into the general freight pool. This last unit is still(mostly) in its original paint, but the second unit, another Grinstein, is now in "Swoosh" paint. Hopefully this is a bodes well for its future!! |
