Mostly dry now |
Description: |
A week ago, this was a raging torrent due to the almost ten inches of rain that fell between Friday night and Sunday. The creek bed has been washed over, but the bridge remains as steady as it has always been, the six units and 114 cars of the H train rolling across at speed. |

Leaning to the curve |
Description: |
The best spot cleared of foliage by the US 59 project is here at Chewie Rd, where there is a fairly tight S curve. The southbound H train rolls into it, seen from the shoulder of the US 59 southbound side. |

Wider view |
Description: |
A wider view of the H train making its pick up shows the whole power consist, including the three GP 40s from the dodger. Two of the local units are in the Belle scheme, making an impressive looking set of power. |

Three Belles |
Description: |
What I have found intriguing about the repaint program on KCS is that the local power, and even some switchers, have mostly been painted into the Belle scheme, a lot of them long ago. I rarely encounter a gray GP 38 or 40 much-though there was one on the dodger earlier this week. Todays dodger has a Belle trio as it makes its way onto the main and heads for Decatur. |
