Belle meet |
Description: |
The grain train has pulled up to the H train, both with Belles, not uncommon now that there are so many, and will swap crews. |

Passing the feed mill |
Description: |
The feed mill at the Jefferson St crossing makes a good prop, even through they get their product by truck. The H train rolls past in the late afternoon. |

On the bridge |
Description: |
The southbound H train rolls across Butler Creek as it prepares to dig into the grade up to Gravette. I beat him here with just enough time to park the car and get set up. |

Past the automatic |
Description: |
The H train rolls south over the hump from Decatur, passing the ABS signal, now lit, as it comes toward me. This spot works in your favor if chasing a heavy train south, as most southbounds are. This one was 106 cars, and even with three ES 44's, it dragged over this short grade south of Decatur. Chasing a northbound on this line can be a challenge, since they are usually well powered for the tonnage of empty coal or grain cars. Loaded southbounds are much less of a challenge, as they work grades out of Sulphur Springs, into Decatur, and again into Siloam. |

Downtown |
Description: |
The H train passes through downtown Gentry, giving an overview of the scene. Curran Feed is on the left, an easily recognizeable feature of downtown. They once had a siding. The station was at left, where there is also a team track, occasionally used to set out bad order cars. |

DPU going goodbye |
Description: |
The 261 rolls away from me, its DPU disappearing around the big curve. It will shortly clear into the siding, and the 262 will come south. |
