New signal
Title:  New signal
Description:  KCS has been gradually relocating signals along the line. They moved the next one south, 252-1/2 about 1/4 to the south of its previous location; that one was in place maybe four years, and was a new installation replacing another signal nearby. Several years back, they moved siglan 226-7 in Siloam, about 1/4 mile to the north. This one was originally about 1/2 mile to the north. All of the new signals are now near road crossings. Makes sense if you ask me. The TXUX train passes new signal 250-0.

By the station
Title:  By the station
Description:  The short grade at the other end of town gives me time to get to the US 59 overpass at the south end. Its a good tele shot, and I usually have time to set up for it. The head end passes the passenger station, now a museum.

No game ntoday
Title:  No game ntoday
Description:  Its a Tuesday afternoon, and there is absolutely nothing going on here. Were in the second month of the Coronavirus pandemic, and all the schools are closed, kids learning on line from home. Some parts of the world, however, need to keep moving, such as this southbound TXUX coal train, headed for a Texas power plant to keep the lights on-and the hospitals and factories that make masks, ventilators, and toilet paper powered up.

Caught up
Title:  Caught up
Description:  Not the hardest thing, as there is a short, steep climb through Decatur that tops out about where the signal is. All but the lightest trains struggle here.

Over the crest
Title:  Over the crest
Description:  The coal train the empty grain move met at Dorsey is now at MP 219, six miles south. I didn't get out of Dorsey til the grainer passed, and was still able to catch this train, which is typically the case.

Climbing out
Title:  Climbing out
Description:  The coal train is pulling to the top of the grade coming out of the Flint Creek valley, its power working hard as it approaches Davidson Rd. The detector just to the south will tell me it has 124 loaded cars.
