Broadway on the curve
Description:
The eastbound Broadway approaches Horseshoe Curve behind consecutively numbered F40's as it makes its way to an engine change at Harrisburg, and on to New York. Some trains were still carrying Slumbercoaches in late 1984-note the partial view of the sleeper at the far left.

Big bridge
Description:
A northbound Amtrak train comes off the steel bridge over the Occoquan River near Woodbridge. This was a good location, as it was easy to access by a crossing at the north end, or later in the day, from adjacent US 1, seen to the right of the train.
