Title:
A long way from home, then a short trip
Description:
Sometimes you think youre going to get a lot of railroad, but things dont quite work out that way. I was visiting family in Georgia, and had a couple of days while my wife and some of the gals went to Pigeon Forge, so I thought Id get up on the e Southern Rathole to check out the action. I got to Dayton Tenn, and saw that getting through town was going to be a challenge. And there was a southbound waiting to move after getting a signal. I chased to the next town, Bakewell, and to him passing the signal there with 78 freight, and 12 autoracks behind its two units. Id spend the day between here and Dayton. Saw 7 trains. The skies were gray all day, which sucked-I HATE when I go somewhere I never get to go, and the weather sucks, especially after the prediction was for 70 and sun. But, a bad day train watching.....
