Old power |
Description: |
Older power on the Santa Fe seemed to stay around forever in local and yard service. In the 80s, I saw GP 20s all over the system in that duty. Many had been rebuilt, but even so, it was a model that the few roads who had them had largely retired by then. They did the same with GP 35s and 30s, rebuilding and upgrading them, getting quite a few more years out of each. |

Local power |

A trio of 4 motor units sit at Albuquerque. While it did not have the density of Belen and the Transcon, there was still enough business there to warrant several units to cover it. |
