Most of the trains I saw that day had some combinatfon of SD 35's, 40's, and 45's, typically in three unit sets, almost all of them running mong hood forward which was standard Southern practice. |

Well after dark, a southbound works the yard. The traffic here was not monumental-no one will confuse this line with the UP in Nebraska-but it was steady. I was there about 15 hours, and saw 15 or so trains. I didnt keep notes in those days(silly me, theyd be really helpful now, 35 years later), so dont have am exact count, but it seemed like there was a train every hour or so. |
