Title:  View from the truck
Description:  After I went to driving school, JB Hunt sent me out with a trainer for several weeks. We worked as a team, switching off the driving. We were rolling down I 57 one day, my trainer driving and me riding. I saw this UP train approaching from the east on the ex C&EI, and was able to get shot of it going away as it passed under the highway. The trailing unit, ex MP, is on familiar turf. Some days you win one.

Broad valley
Title:  Broad valley
Description:  One of the things I enjoy about the west end of the Tier is some of the wider vistas between Hornell and Letchworth Park, such as this scene from the NY 70 overpass near Canaeraga.BUOI rolls east with 100 cars.

Around the curve
Title:  Around the curve
Description:  TV 301 rounds the big curve near Cochecton at MP 131 alongside NY 97. It was a great place to shoot a train, through it works better with two or three units. Four is really one too many.

Off the bridge
Title:  Off the bridge
Description:  TV 301 rolls off the big through truss bridge over the East Branch of the Delaware. The clearance above the double stacks shows why the Erie was the preferred high and wide route in the east.
