Still Southern
Title:  Still Southern
Description:  NS has been replacing the old signals on its various lines with new PTC compatible signals, but there are places where the old ones remain. One such place is Bremen GA, on the old Southern line to Birmingham. I had gone there to catch the Crescent, but it did not show by dark. Amazing how a train can lose/so much time so quickly.

Northbound to a meet.
Title:  Northbound to a meet.
Description:  I heard this northbound calling signals as it approached Stilwell, and was able to get to the station to catch it passing in a going away shot. The actual meet was on the other end of the building. Would have been a nice catch, but these things are hard to predict at times. A battered KCSM GE trails.

Description:  Usually, the trees near a river or lake hold their leaves longer than elsewhere, due to the proximity of a good water source. Not here, apprently. Must be a northeast thing. The northbound 181 rolls its 27 autos, one of them articulated, and 82 grain hoppers north across the Illinois River.

Description:  I was afraid this view from the Ark 59 overpass would have no color in it whatsoever., but was pleasantly surprised to find there was still a little bit left, and enough light to make for a passably decent photo. Hes stop just north of here, depriving me of a shot near Noel along the creek there.

View from the bridge

Description:  I was coming back from somewhere in town, and as I approached the KCS overpass on US 412, I could see grain hoppers rolling underneath. I didnt have time to chase, so didnt get a shot of the head end, but I did get the DPU as it came out from under, now holding back the train as it rolled downhill toward Watts.

Description:  Theres a local coffee shop in town that has pretty tasty bagels-not the kind you get in New York, mind you, thats just not a reality here-but good nonetheless. I had texted in an order for Diane and me, and was on my way to pick them up. As I rolled up toward Kenwood St, I could see a train on the Lincoln Av crossing in the distance. I made a quick detour to US 412 west, stopping on the bridge in time to catch this southbound AEPX train with a pair of UP units.
