The DPU on a TXUX coal train rolls away from me-I was on my way to drop recycling, and missed the head end, but its almost a sure thing it was a pair of BNSF units-at Lake Frances Rd. The city just finished a four month(!!!) rehab project on it from the tracks out to Ark 59. The last part of the project is new crossing protection. The crossing, which had flashers, now will have gates too, but theyre not fully operational yet, as you can see by the lack of gates!! A Progress Rail demonstrator brings up the rear. |

It was 80 degrees last Friday, and I was out washing the car when I heard a northbound blowing for State Line Rd as he worked up from Watts. I finished up what I was doing and headed out, to find him into the siding, but holding. I went up into town to hopefully catch the meet. The northbound didnt pull up far enough to get the shot, but I did get the southbound M train splitting the signals at Tahlequah St, rolling 75 cars toward Shreveport |

We don't get much snow here, most years less than a foot for the whole season. The week before I got this show of Q KCNL passing the cemetery at CP Flint Creek we had around 10", and it was cold, down to -12 three nights earlier. The up side was, when the trains ran, it made for a good photo. A four unit set rolls south with 66 freight, a DPU, followed by 16 two unit auto racks, and 15 stack platforms. |
