Description:  Q 143 arrives from the Lineville Sub with 170 platforms. There was enough light to get the shot here, but it was dark when he cleared. The northbound with 5207 has gotten as far as he can after a crew change over an hour ago.

Description:  This northbound was catching one of the few peeks of sun as it rolled in from Waycross for a crew change and a meet with Q 260. It would get a new crew, but still be waiting to get out when I left around 1930 after meeting Q 143.

Off the bridge
Title:  Off the bridge
Description:  A southbound intermodal train comes off the NS Memphis District bridge over the Tennessee River at Decatur. I had to run to get this shot. I was a block away looking at the antebellum Burleson Home when I saw the train coming over the bridge. Fortunately, its speed restricted, since Im not that fast any more. I got a little chain link in the photo, too, but such are the hazards of modern railfanning. Nice to see I can still run.

Run through Rock

Description:  We like to get up to a couple of the National Wildlife Refuges in the central flyway in the fall. We held off this year due to the Covid pandemic, but finally decided wed do one overnight, rather than the two or three we usually do. The RV park was in Pratt, within earshot of the ex Rock Island Golden State route, so it was a pleasant surprise to come out to K 61 in the morning to find a stack train holding at the signal east of town. Hell shortly be on his way to El Paso and the SP across the desert.

Description:  I had a little free time during a recent trip to Cleveland, so was able to get out and check the action for a short while. I picked a spot east of Cleveland where the NS and CSX run adjacent, which they do most of the way to Buffalo. CSX chipped in two trains and a Sperry car while I was there.
