A train of empty hoppers is rolling west out of the Lamberts Point yard behind a set of power that was already classic by then, including an ex EL SDP45 that had come back to NS from Conrail when the lease expired. It was one of the units financed by Dereco in the late 60s. |

There will be a bunch of these. The Enola dead line abounded with all kinds of diesels in the mid 80s. I took several photos from points along US 11/15 hoping to capture some of the power that would soon be going to its final rest. Some nuits still wore their pre Conrail garb-note the ex EL GP 35 to the right rear. |

The Erie Lackawanna bought a group of SDP45s with no steam generators, so they could get the 5000 gallon fuel tanks. They made it into Conrail, but went back to lessor NS when the lease was up. I caught this one from the Cardinal on the way out of Chicago. |
