In the family |

R&S power at the Salamanca yard. Rochester & Southern and Buffalo & Pittsburgh were both in the G&W family, and operated as a unit, despite the separate names and properties. |

Title: |
Patch power |
Description: |
In its early days of running larger systems than its traditional lines, the Genesee & Wyoming used a lot of hand me down power in patched paint. Here is the train that interchanged with Conrail at Silver Springs with a pair of ex CR units and an ex NW geep, all in original colors. The unified colors would come later. The snow would eventually melt, too!! |
