Coal down the river |
Description: |
An eastbound coal train rolls through Hoffman Av just as an auto rack train clears. Look at those GE's smoke!!This is one of the busiest spots in the area, located where CPs ex MILW line and BNSFs ex CB&Q line head east down the Mississippi River. Theyll shortly end up on opposite sides, but here they are together. Its a show. |

Coal train east |
Description: |
Right after Memorial Day 1996, I delivered a load of beer to a distributor in Ottumwa Iowa. While waiting on my next load, I caught this train rolling east. In the pre SD70 and AC4400 everywhere era, coal trains usually got a mix of 3000 HP units, such as these. |

KCS Business train before the Belle |
Description: |
I caught the KCS business train at Knoche on Sunday while waiting on freight. The Choteau Trafficway was easy to get to, and I could park a bobtail tractor nearby, so I went train watching. Turned intot a good day. A coal train headed south on the KCS makes its way though the yard. |
