Description:  I wasnt able to get ahead of the train for a good shot at Siloam-too many people ahead of me in town who think a 55 MPH speed limit means 45 is good enough-but I did catch the DPUs in the glint of the late sun south of Kenwood as they passed the dodger, which was working Pipelife.

Description:  This grain train was waiting north of Stilwell, most likely for a meet. Why they were held up here is a mystery, since the siding there is quite long enough to hold a 100 car train withovt blocking any crossings. Made the shot easy for me though.

Description:  Dad took a boat trip with some friends, which allowed views of Manhatton that were off his normal rounds. He took advantage of the new viewpoint to get some interesting photos. One was this Lehigh Valley pier, near Christopher St. It is no longer in service, and at tis point, the question is, will the pier fall into the river before the railroad itself goes under in a couple of years.

Description:  On the KCS, where I see most of the coal trains I encounter, its unusual to see three units trailing. Here on the BNSF Thayer Sub, the old Frisco to Memphis through the Ozarks, its fairly common to see a 2x3 power set. This is the rear on a 135 car eastbound coal train. These units will get a real workout in another hour or so.

Description:  The northbound empty train rolls up the siding. In the distance, we can see the loaded train holding short of the Main St crossing. It will pull down as the empty pulls up. KCS is pretty good about not blocking crossings in town when they have a meet. I have occasionally been startled to see a train sitting just south of Lake Frances Rd in Siloam, waiting for a southbound to get into town.
